First Sunday Food (House of Neighborly Service)

Hunger is not just in far-away places; it’s right here in Loveland, too!  First Christian has supported the House of Neighborly Service’s (HNS) food program for decades.  In 2010, we began a new way to provide ongoing, monthly support.  It’s called First Sunday Food!  It is a simple, yet very effective way to collect food and supplies for Loveland’s needy.  We contact HNS to determine the item most needed in their pantry for a given month.  It becomes our featured item for the next month.  On the first Sunday of that month, First Christian members bring the item to church on Sunday morning.  The next day, all product collected get delivered to HNS’ food program for distribution to those in need.  We have collected peanut butter, soup, flour, bake mixes, personal care items, tuna, and many other products for HNS over the first year of this ministry.  Here is an easy and effective way for you to fight hunger in your home town!
