Homeless (Interfaith Hospitality Network/Angel House/Family Promise)

Homeless families in Loveland have an angel in their corner!  Actually, it’s the Angel House, home of the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN).  Many churches in the Loveland/Berthoud area participate in this ministry, and First Christian is one of them.  We have been a participating church since 2005.  Here’s how it works.  Each church in the program volunteers to sponsor a week-long hosting of homeless families several times per year.  When the families come to our church, we convert the classrooms to bedrooms.  We offer showers, TV rooms, games and books for the kids, and companionship to our guests.  Also, each night of their stay, our guests are treated to a home-cooked meal courtesy of our volunteer members.  The guest families stay overnight in the church and then go to the Angel House in downtown Loveland for daytime activities.

Is caring for the homeless a passion of yours?  You can get involved hands-on at First Christian!
